Friday

My apologies- thanks to blogger....

there will be no Recipe Swap today...
I had to "un"post my blogoversary giveway and save as a draft...
{semi} wordless wednesday is on hold also...
I won't post again til I figure out what's up with blogger.
For some reason, I get email confirmation of comments but then nothing is there....
Then on certain days, Blogger decides to make my blog completely private...
I plan to be back on Sept. 2nd...
I hope everything will be back on track then.

Therefore, this seems appropriate for where I am right now...

I hope you all have had a blessed summer and are ready to get yo' blog on!!!

{semi} Wordless Wednesday

Hey, y'all! I'm J from The Bee's Knees. When Daph said she needed a guest poster for today, I begged and begged and begged for her to let me do it, and she finally said yes! I absolutely adore her blog, and her link-ups are by far my fave!

Anywhoodles, I live in Texas, aka the Devil's armpit, and it is hawt down here. Like, hotter than hot. And since I can't spend my days floating the river or knocking back a Shiner Bock in my kiddie pool, I have to resort to pinning things on Pinterest that remind me of cooler weather. So, when I noticed that my local stores were already busting out the Halloween decorations, I may have gotten a bit excited. I then knocked a few elderly people over and rushed to my beloved pinterest to find a little spooky inspiration. Wanna see what I've been pinning??

I must make this!

These are adorable, but I would definitely have to use flameless candles!

Aren't these the cutest!?

This is totally brillz!

This whole thing just screams classy to me!

I would like two dozen of these, please and thank you.

I love wreaths, I have one for every holiday and occasion!!

Y'all can check out more of my Howl-O-Ween pins here. Ok guys, it's your turn to link-up!
Photobucket

There are only a couple of rules:
1) Grab the badge so your readers know that you're linking up! (The code is over --> in the sidebar)
2) Be sure to visit a few of the bloggers who linked up before you and show them a little love!

And obviously it's not a rule, but you're more than welcome to stop by and visit me! Oh, and by the way, Daph will be back here on September 2nd, and I heard from a little birdie that there may be a blogoversary giveaway coming up in the next few days, so you may wanna keep an eye out!

Thanks for hanging out with me today, and I can't wait to see y'alls {Semi} Wordless Wednesday posts!!

{semi} Wordless Wednesday

Happy Hump Day!

I'm Allie from Sundresses and Smiles and am so thrilled to be guest posting on one of my very favorite blogs:  Flip Flops & Pearls.  Isn't Daph the greatest?  I've missed her posts and sweet sweet comments so much this summer, but am happy that her absence has allowed me to post for all of y'all.

If you're a reader of my blog, you're familiar with "The Cuties."  Cutie A and Cutie B are the two little loves that I nanny for in the summers.  I have babysat for them for 5 years and really consider them family.  This week is our last week together for the summer and we are all feeling VERY sad, so I thought it would be fun to share some of our pictures from the summer, sprinkled with some favorite quotes about kids for today's semi WW.

"While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about."
Angela Schwindt

"There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child.  There are seven million."
Walt Streightiff

"Children are the hands by which we take hold of heaven."
Henry Ward Beecher

"Children will not remember you for the material things you provided but for the feeling that you cherished them."
Richard L. Evans

"A characteristic of the normal child is he doesn't act that way very often"
Unknown

"The only thing worth stealing is a kiss from a sleeping child."
Joe Houldsworth

"No one has yet fully realized the wealth of sympathy, kindness, and generosity hidden in the soul of a child.  The effort of every true education should be to unlock that treasure."
Emma Goldman

"Adults are always asking little kids what they wanna be when they grow up because they're looking for ideas."
Paula Poundstone
